Minutes from August 19th meeting were reviewed. Nancy B. made a motion to accept the minutes with the corrections made. Nancy H. seconded the motion. Connie and Kelly abstained because they were absent. Motion passed.
Railcar
Terry presented some paint chips of the color he will be painting the railcar. The stairs will be stained to match the railcar.
Financials
Bills were presented for payment and warrant signed.
The 2010 budget was discussed. We made an attempt to reduce the budget but in the end are proposing a level budget as we need to add a line item for legal expenses. Reductions were made in several lines to allow for the legal expenses without increasing the budget. Pam will meet with the town administrator later this week.
Correspondence
Bills, memo from town administrator, NEMA Conference, Preservation Magazine have been received since our last meeting. The NEMA Conference was discussed and the brochure is available for members to review. The conference will be held November 11th through the 13th. We should have a count of members who would like to participate by our October 7th meeting.
Website
We will discuss the website in the next meeting and maybe we can bring it up live during the meeting.
Grange Hall
Pam spoke with Don Silcocks he has been doing the work on the well. Wakefield Theater Company is looking for some storage. It is agreed that they could use the upstairs coat closet in the Grange Hall if necessary.
Volunteer Appreciation
Day
Sunday, September 13th, 1:00-3:00 invitations have been sent out. We will be serving hamburgers, hotdogs, baked beans, coleslaw, drinks, and desserts. All members and most spouses will be present and members will be providing everything necessary.
Spinney Meeting House
Saturday, September 26, 9:00 will meet to scrape and paint sections of the exterior of the Spinney Meeting House.
After discussion Nancy B. made a motion that we add members who are absent to the minutes. Connie seconded the motion. Motion passed.
John made a motion to change to one meeting a month for the months of October through March and to meet at the Town Hall. It was seconded. Motion passed
