When are property tax bills due?

Tax bills are issued twice each year. The first bill of the year is an estimate, based on one half of the previous year’s tax rate. This bill is mailed out at the end of May are due and payable on July 1st. The tax rate is set by the State of New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration in the fall of each year. The second tax bill is issued after the new tax rate has been set and is due and payable on December 1st. This bill is calculated using the new rate multiplied by the property’s assessed value as of April 1st, minus any payments made on the first bill.
