Mission Statement

The Zoning Board of adjustment provides a valuable service as a safety valve that prevents our important zoning regulations from being considered unconstitutional. Occasionally an otherwise good restriction will, in that specific situation, create a hardship by preventing a reasonable use but not make any significant advancement to the good purpose of that restriction. In that case, the Zoning Board of Adjustment should consider providing relief to a properly presented argument that the applicant has made while preserving the overall good purposed of that regulation.Adopted May 16, 2022

 

Submittal of applications:

Appointments are required for submittal of land use related applications, i.e., minor/major subdivision, conditional use permits, ZBA variances, boundary line adjustments. Call 603-522-6205, ext. 312 to make an appointment with the Land Use Clerk.

When submitting an application please allow enough time for an application to be processed and verified as complete. If you should decide to submit an application on the last day of submittal, please understand it is not a guarantee you will be on the next agenda until the application has been deemed complete by our office. The office will notify you of the meeting date.

 All information requested on the application must be filled in completely and legible with any additional documentation and fees required. Incomplete application packages will not be scheduled until all requirements are met.

When your application is determined to be complete, a hearing will be scheduled in accordance with the Planning/Zoning Board’s Hearing Schedule.
